Starting School

On Monday this sweet little girl started Kindergarten.  She has been so excited about starting school.

Her brothers were not as exciting.  Little Gare Bear is not an early riser, can you tell?  The poor little guy has to be woken up every morning to take Addie to school.  Hopefully he will adjust to our new routine.

Addie is having so much fun at school and I am having a lot of fun spending more quality time with these handsome little men.  We were doing a little shopping at Target and this is what I saw.

Our family has a lot of changes coming in the next month, but right now we are trying to enjoy our time here in Texas.  That includes shopping at Target and eating Chick Fil A, both of which we enjoyed today.

Our Last Day of Summer

I can't believe that this is our last day of summer before Addie starts school.  Monday begins a new chapter for our family and I think I am even more emotional than I would normally be because we are in the midst of such tumultuous times for our family anyway.
We were invited to a pool play date today and I can not imagine a better way to celebrate Addie's last day of summer vacation.
Here is my little surfer girl.
Addie and Noah had so much fun swimming all over the pool.  Noah's mom jokingly said that they might get married some day after seeing this picture.
Keeping up wtih these three little angels at the pool is a little bit of a challenge, but it is worth every minute.   Addie is a great swimmer, but I think the big surprise in the last couple of weeks is our little Ben.  He puts his face in the water and swims all by himself.  He still stays in the shallow water, but he is getting to be a really strong swimmer.  Garrett keeps me the busiest, but I love that our babies all love water.
To make this day officially our last day we also had Meet the Teacher.  Addie seemed so little when we walked into the school.  Her teacher seems really nice and the classroom seems like a lot of fun.  Addie is so excited about Monday.  Before we could leave the school we had to check out the library.  I love that she has a love for reading already.
For a special treat Addie and I headed down the road to Starbucks, apple juice and 2 chocolate donuts made for one happy little girl.  We had a great conversation and some good quality time.

I am sure I will be one of the parents crying on Monday morning as I watch Addie walk into this new phase in life, but I am so excited to see what kind of person Addie becomes.  I am so proud of what an amazing little girl she is, she truly is a blessing in our life.

And The Craziness Begins

Jon and I have been anxiously awaiting news on our move to Norway.  I would like to say that I was waiting patiently, but that would be a lie.  I was making Jon crazy.  I think it was showing at work because when approval finally came through his boss called him at 8:30 that night to tell him.  I am happy to be able to say that we have started the mountain of paper work that it takes to move a family of 5 half way around the world.  We still don't have an exact date, but at least now we have started the process.  We feel some what confident that we will be celebrating Halloween in Norway.
With that said we have also started the process of liquidating some of our belongings.  We will be putting some things in storage here in Texas and some things will be coming with us, but there are some things that will need to find a new home.  Right now we are taking care of some of the bigger pieces of furniture.  As we get closer to our move date we will be selling more of the kids larger toys and other items that we will not be taking with us or storing.  I will keep you updated when that time comes.
If you want to take a look at the shutterfly album there are descriptions and prices.  Please let me know if there is anything that you are interested in.

Too Quiet

Every mother knows that moment when they realize their child has been too quiet for too long.  That moment hit me this weekend when I realized I had not heard from Ben in a while.  I opened our bathroom door to find this, Ben was giving himself a bath.  This crazy little man was having so much fun!  There was water EVERYWHERE, but the smile on his face was so precious.
