Merry Christmas!

Our little Santa Baby.

His shirt says "All mommy wants for Christmas is a Silent Night". We haven't been getting many of those lately, but Garrett is such a sweet baby.

All ready to head to church for our Christmas Eve service. It was a little long, but the end was definitely worth it. They brought out a real elephant and camels, it was very neat. They were supposed to have sledding and hot chocolate after the service, but instead there was cold rain and 30 mph winds.

Christmas morning with all the goodies set out.

Here is the rest of the room. This is our first Christmas in our own home and it is so much fun to be able to set everything up for the kids.

Everyone coming down the stairs together.

Aunt Laura and her baby, Pinot, waiting to dig in.

Ben knew just what to do with his basketball hoop.

Nannie fixing tea for everyone.

I think Ben has already worn out the batteries in his drill, he loves his tool bench.

Addie with her new dollhouse.

Showing off her new necklace from Aunt Laura.

GeeGee and Garrett getting some quality time.

Bennett checking out Addie's dollhouse.

Aunt Laura showing Nannie how to work her new phone.

Jon with his giant bag of pancake mix and two giant bottles of syrup.

Garrett in the stocking the hospital gave to us. Our little Christmas present.

A quick family picture. I can't believe that we are now a family of 5!

I can't believe we actually got a shot with all three of them.

Me with my favorite Christmas present this year!

Garrett's First Bath

It wasn't a real bath yet, but he did get cleaned up a little. He looks so much like Addie did as a baby we had to get a picture. I am going to have to go find some of our old pictures of Addie to compare. He is such a sweet baby, we are having so much fun loving on him.

Garrett Patrick Hilton

On December 15th, 2010 nineteen minutes after midnight we welcomed Garrett Patrick Hilton into our family. He weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Tuesday morning I had a doctor's appointment and everything looked good, I was on the list for a Wednesday induction if they had room for me. At around 4 in the afternoon I started having contractions, but they weren't very close together. By 7 that night my contractions were 3-5 minutes apart. Jon and I helped to put the kids to bed and headed off to the hospital. Unfortunately Addie had come down with a nasty cold and her fever that night was over 102. Addie had a doctor's appointment the next morning so I was hoping that Jon would be home in time to help take the kids to the doctor.
We made it to the hospital and they got us into a room. The whole experience was really good. I got an epidural that worked like a dream and I only had to push twice and Garrett was here.
Jon was able to get a little more sleep after Garrett was born and be home in time to get the kids to the doctor. It is a good thing too, they both had to get on antibiotics and Garrett and I stayed in the hospital for an extra day so the kids could have more time to get better before we brought him home.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Here I am all hooked up at the hospital. I had my epidural in place by 10 pm and was feeling pretty good by 10:30.

Here I am with Garrett! It was so neat to find out the gender as the baby was born.

Here is our newest little man.

Here we are with our little guy.

Garrett loves to have his hands near his face and has found his fingers and his thumb quite a few times. He is such a sweet little boy and we are so excited to have him as a part of our family.

No Baby Today

I have never been pregnant this long, both of our other children decided they were ready to come out on their own, as least a week before their due date. I knew assuming this baby would do the same thing was dangerous. My official due date is Sunday, but I really thought this baby would have made its appearance by now. Not only is Scout deciding to stay put, but the scheduled induction we had for today is not going to happen. Because the induction is not medically necessary we have gotten bumped to tomorrow. I am kind of relieved, but also very anxious to meet this little one. We will let you know as soon as we have any fun news.

Here Comes Santa Claus

Today we took the kids to see Santa. I have been worried about their reactions this year. They did really well, no smiles, but not many tears either.

Ben was nervous about the whole thing, but at this point it was just too much.

Candy canes seemed to make everything better.

We even started to get a little smile out of Addie. Our biggest problem again this year was that Addie thought she should get the toy she asked for today. It is so hard to explain to a child that Santa will bring it later. Again, the candy cane seemed to help.

A family picture while the kids enjoyed their treat. I got a lot of "When are you due?" questions today, when I saw this picture I understood why.

Ben really enjoyed his candy cane, I think that was the first time he had ever had one. We had to watch him because he kept eating down to the wrapper and then trying to chew on it.

Addie was getting hungry, you can see the blank look in her eyes. She was such a good listener today, it was a fun day for all of us.

Another family picture, we are loving having Nannie, my mom, here with us. I need to make sure I get a picture of her on here next time.

Update on Scout

If you didn't seem my update on Facebook I wanted to let you know the latest on Scout. I will be 39 weeks this Sunday, since I am progressing the doctor said it was okay to go ahead and schedule an induction for next week. I have a Christmas party on Monday that I would like to go to so we are on the books for Tuesday, December 14th. Scout may decide to come before then and that would be okay with me, but we will definitely have a baby next week. We are so excited to finally meet this little one and find out if it is a new little brother or little sister. I am still thinking boy and Jon still thinks girl. We have always known going into delivery who we were meeting and not knowing is fun and makes everything a little more exciting.
We will do our best to get all the info out when Scout does make his/her arrival.
Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We are really starting to get into the holiday spirit around here. Nannie has done a wonderful job getting our house decorated and the 'chilly' weather has made it fun to walk around the neighborhood at night and ooh and ahh at all of the decorated houses. Addie started wearing Christmas jammies the other night, this pair is special, they have been worn by my little sister and my cousin and now Addie. I love when things are saved and passed down so I had to get some pictures.
Here is a video Jon took, I love hearing Addie's thoughts about Christmas.

Yesterday Addie had her very first performance at the preschool she goes to. I have been so afraid that I would go into labor and not be their for Addie to sing her songs, thankfully Scout has stayed put and we were all able to see Addie sing her little heart out. She looked so sweet all ready in her snowflake dress.
Ben wanted to be in the picture too. Scout gets lots of love these days as my belly gets bigger and bigger.
Ben was ready and waiting for the performance to start. There were lots of fidgety little brothers and sisters. We sat next to our friend, Xander, who was willing to share his toys since we forgot to bring any.

Once the kids came in it was very hard to get any pictures, this is a zoomed in shot of Addie singing "This Little Light of Mine".

Addie was in the front row and she did such a good job of standing still, we were all so proud of her.

Everyone was dressed up so we tried to get a few pictures before we took Daddy out for his Birthday lunch. Addie and Ben were sweet at first.

We had a little bit more trouble getting a good family picture.

Jon and I traded and we were able to get a decent picture of the 4 of us.

Here are Scout and I, it was pretty funny watching me try and stand up, I am moving pretty slow these days.

Playing at the Park

Addie and her friend Sarabeth taking a break on the swing.

Practicing their balance beam skills.

Ben likes goind down the slide, but he will only go backwards. He got a little too brave and I had to climb up a slide and go down with him, it was a twisty slide and it was not pretty.

Sarabeth's little brother, Nathan, he was having fun playing too.

Addie saying "Hi" to Nathan.

Scout and I hanging out at the park, it is a good thing Nannie has been here to help, keeping up with both kids at the park is a work out for me right now.

Our Little man loves playing outside.

Being sweet for a minute.

Happy kiddos, I love it.

I was being silly trying to get the kids to smile, it worked!

The kids tried out frosted animal crackers for the first time, they were a hit.

Both Addie and Ben loved them, and so did all of our friends. I love it when one of my random coupon purchases turns otu to be yummy.
